Camp Overview

Join us for a thrilling wilderness experience at our campsite in Mastrang, situated on the banks of the Baspa River on the Rakchham–Chitkul Highway, Kinnaur. This camp is designed to instill survival skills, adventure, and a love for nature.

Camp Accommodation

At Campsite separate accommodation in tents on 2-4 sharing basis for participants. All tents are equipped with mattresses & sleeping bags/quilts, have electricity and attached toilets & bathrooms.

Food

Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. (Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea, Dinner). Jain/Swaminarayan food available on request.

Certificate

Kinnaur Mountaineering, Skiing & Rescue Association (KMSRA) will be issued participation of course certificate to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Daily Schedule

Ahmedabad to Delhi / Chandigarh Train: Lunch & Dinner - Enroute in Train.
Delhi / Chandigarh to Narkanda by Tempo Travellers.
Meals: Breakfast: At Delhi / Chandigarh, Lunch: At Chandigarh / Narkanda, Dinner: At Narkanda.
Welcome & Introduction Session. Familiarization Trek and Basic Information about Campsite & Surroundings.
Camp Fire: Understanding the Himalayas & Do’s & Don'ts on the Mountains. Why trekking safety matters. Camp discipline & buddy system. Positive Mental Attitude.
Meals: Breakfast: At Narkanda, Lunch: Enroute, Dinner: At Camp Site.
Morning Exercise & Day Briefing & Group Leaders Duty Allocation.
Skill Learning Session 1 – Rope & Knot Basics: The Basics of Trekking Introduction of Ropes, Coiling of Ropes and Care and Maintenance, Types of Knots, Hitches use of Knots and Hitches & Gear.
Skill Learning Session 2 – Lecture on Wilderness Survival: How to pack a backpack, Tent Pitching, Stove Demonstration & Refilling, Fire Starter Making.
Camp Fire: Types of Camp Fire & its Uses.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: At Camp Site.
Morning Exercise & Day Briefing & Group Leaders Duty Allocation.
Skill Learning Session 3: Trek to put rope and knot class learnings into real -world practice: Rock Climbing, Rock Rappelling, Bouldering.
Skill Learning Session 4: Lecture on First Aid and Cas Evacuation by improvise Stretchers.
Camp Fire: Indian Wildlife & Its Importance.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: At Camp Site.
Morning Exercise & Day Briefing & Group Leaders Duty Allocation.
Skill Learning Session 5: River Crossing by physically or by Rope Bridge Tyrolean Traversing.
Skill Learning Session 6 – Next Day Summit Preparation: Logistical Preparation, Lecture on search and rescue, Mountain sickness and cold injuries. Early sleep for the next day’s trek.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: At Camp Site.
Early Morning, we will leave for summit.
Transfer to starting point by the vehicle, from here group will start climbing under the leadership of local guides.
Summit at the peak around 14,800 ft. (4500 mts.).
During the trek, participants applied their learned skills of wilderness survival and reach back to the starting point.
Camp Fire: Award Night.
Meals: Breakfast: At Camp Site, Lunch: Enroute, Dinner: At Camp Site.
Photo Session, Feedback, Group Photo and leave for Shimla. Night Stay at Shimla.
Meals: Breakfast: At Camp Site, Lunch: Enroute, Dinner: At Shimla.
Train to Ahmedabad.
Meals: Breakfast: At Shimla, Lunch: Enroute, Dinner: In Train.
Reach Ahmedabad: Breakfast & Lunch - Enroute in Train.

Please Carry

All the items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional. (Please don’t carry suitcase for luggage and plastic bottles as water bottle)

  • Five/six pairs of comfortable clothes
  • Night dress, shorts
  • Sweater, jacket, raincoat
  • Bath towel
  • Sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters
  • Woollen cap, woollen socks, leather gloves
  • Sunglasses, air-pillow
  • Water bottle, torch, daypack, folding umbrella
  • Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.)
  • Original photo ID proof (Mandatory) - Participants may pay fine without it.

Policies & Refunds

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If a participant cancels the booking for any personal reason, the cancellation will be treated as voluntary, and the following deductions will apply:

Time of Cancellation (Before Departure) Cancellation Charges
Minimum Cancellation (Before 60 days)10% of the total programme cost
Between 60 to 31 Days25% of the total programme cost
Between 30 to 16 Days50% of the total programme cost
Less than 16 Days100% of the total programme cost

* All cancellation requests must be made in writing (via email, WhatsApp, or signed letter). Refunds will be processed within 15 working days.

Booking & Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/- to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey.

Unavoidable Circumstances: If due to reasons beyond our control like riots, floods, political unrest, band’s, accidents, traffic jam or any other natural or manmade calamities, the program of the tour has to be changed or extended, the additional expenditure for the same will have to be borne by the passengers. If any passengers have to leave the tour mid-way, due to any reasons like death of relative / illness / any other reasons, there shall be no refund for the remaining portion of the tour. And the expenses for returning back to your destination also shall be borne by the passengers. Any dispute will be subject to Ahmedabad Jurisdiction.

Important Notes:

  • Fitness Certificate: From an authorized MBBS Doctor for participating is mandatory.
  • Luggage: Participants must carry their own luggage. We will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
  • Mobile Phones: Allowed but not during camp activities.
  • AC in Hills: At hill stations, the vehicle’s air-conditioner will not work while driving uphill, and the A/C also does not operate when the vehicle is not moving (in standing position).
  • Medical Facilities: The instructors are qualified in Basic First Aid & CPR. All emergencies treated by nearest doctor/facility at participant's cost.
